FIRST IMPRESSIONS
VISUAL: Thancred is a hyur (human) man of average height. His white hair is kept short, with bangs framing his face. It's unkempt, but in a purposeful way. His left eye is devoid of color due to a mishap into the Lifestream. He sports garb that is fitting for his role, a black metal breastplate under a long, flowing, thick white coat. Black pants tucked into heavy armored boots that guard his lower thigh. Leather bracers wrap up to his elbows, his coat sleeves folded up to meet them. Ammo hangs from his waist, and he is adorned with silver metal and turquoise blue accessories. Most notable is the Archon Mark tattoos at either side of his neck, partially obscured by a white leather choker that he refuses to go without.
AURAL: A low and rugged, occasionally sultry, voice. He's got your regular run of the mill Received Pronunciation British accent as far as I can tell. Thancred is known for his voice. A roguish bard to some, a strong protector to others.
DEMEANOUR: Thancred is someone who holds himself with learned pride and confidence. He was once a charmer, someone who outwardly gave his all to any conversation. His arms are typically crossed or kept at his hips, because although he no longer wields knives in a fight, that instinct has long since rooted itself into his body.

IN CHARACTER
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Absolutely! Although he has grown more reserved in his recent years, old tendencies die hard. He'll clap you on the shoulder or guide you with a hand at your back as you walk. He'll reciprocate what he is given, but not much more unless he sees fit.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Go ahead! You reap what you sow with him. You pose a threat, he'll have had a hand on his gunblade before you even thought to pounce. Friendly sparring is also always acceptable with forewarning.
RELATIONSHIPS: Thancred is very easy to make friends with. And he's flirty by nature. However I, the player, am not super comfortable rp'ing romance. I'm open to discussion but unless the cards fall in a very specific way, it's not what I want.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Before his first foray into the Lifestream, Thancred was quite adept at aether (magic) sensing. Now he can feel none of it and can channel his own even less. Besides that, he's an average guy! Perhaps the most average amongst his peers!
MAGICAL INFORMATION: As seen above, he's had his magical abilities significantly hindered. However he does have some... odd capability of cutting off his life-sustaining aether in order to conceal his presence.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Canon doesn't bring it up but I'd like to think the sight in his left eye is at least worse than his right. Also maybe some chronic pain in spots that have particularly gnarly scars. Other than that, he's good! He's got lean muscle, he's fit for his work, he's ready for what you throw at him!

FOR THANCRED: Hurting those he cares for. Talk of Minfilia is a surefire way to get him uncomfortable, but he won't outright ignore you anymore about it. Brainwashing/possession is also a touchy subject, especially if he is the one subject to it. Any possibility of him being controlled to hurt those he cares about against his will is. Yeowch.
FROM THANCRED: Suicidal undertones, due to the very self-sacrificial tendency that he has. He just does not care about his well-being if it means others are safe. General self-deprecation to a degree. Anything else I will do my damnedest tag accordingly.

CANONPOINT: I'm playing him, for right now, directly after the events of Patch 5.3. This will likely progress as I work my way through MSQ.

- I consider his relationship to Minfilia purely familial. He might not outright call her "sister" when talking about her, but the intent is there. Ryne is still his daughter, though. He's learning to refer to her as such.
- The canon I will default to pull him from is my AU, which is canon but shifted slightly to the left. As in, there are six Warriors of Light. One of those being the 1.0 WoL who he regarded as a sister. (I say regarded because she faked her death for 15 years and he only recently found out that she's still kicking). It's still mostly the same Thancred! Just with some added trauma and a lot more resentment for Hydaelyn.
- The 1.0 WoL in question that he is most likely to bring up out of any of the six, is a Roegadyn woman named Sthallona. The two of them knew each other back when Thancred was still a street-rat in the alleys of Limsa. She stowed her way to Sharlayan when he was swooped away. They went to the Studium together. They got their tattoos together. He saw her off to Carteneau and then didn't stop searching for her until years had gone by. Read this if you want a bit more in depth. I am working on a fic. It's going poorly lmao.
- This canon also has Thancred paired with Urianger, but I am less likely to bring this up. Especially considering the canonpoint I'm bringing him from. Thancred don't know shit about feelings. Much less his own.
